About Creative Expression Centre for Arts Therapy (CECAT)
CECAT’s programs are aimed at promoting early intervention and recovery for people diagnosed with a mental illness, transitioning in or out of hospital to the community, or people at risk of relapse or post relapse.
We can help you express yourself creatively as part of your mental health recovery. Programs are free and most art materials provided, though some materials may incur a small fee. No art skills are necessary. CECAT has varied programs to meet your changing needs as your recovery progresses, including:

This course is aimed at helping young people to “identify and express feelings, encourage positive coping strategies, increase self confidence in managing relationships and provides support for young people at critical times in their lives”. Counselling Program within the School of Psychology at Murdoch Uni includes an art therapy as part of their practise. As with the Master Clinical Psychology program, the counselling program has students take on clients at a much reduced rate which may be attractive. CANTEEN - Counselling for Teens whose parents are diagnosed with cancer
